Manager Dave Trembley said Nolan Reimold will be his starting left fielder this season.
"Our outfield is Reimold, Jones and Markakis and Pie gives us some flexibility being able to play center and left," said Trembley. "Reimold could DH some vs. left-handed pitching. I don't see it as a competitive thing coming into spring training. Both guys (Reimold and Pie) are on the club, my job is to get them at bats and keep them fresh." There was some thought that Reimold should split his time between designated hitter, first base and left field, providing more playing time for Felix Pie, but Trembley was impressed enough with the 26-year-old to hand him everyday duties heading into the new season. Reimold batted .279/.365/.466 with 15 homers, 45 RBI and eight stolen bases in 358 at-bats as a rookie last season.

Nolan Reimold expects to be ready for spring training after surgery to repair a partially torn (25 percent) Achilles tendon in late September.
Reimold is still rehabbing and doing agility drills and is unsure if he'll be limited at the outset of spring training. The 26 year old batted .279/.365/.466 with 15 homers, 45 RBI and eight stolen bases in 358 in his rookie campaign before the surgery. Reimold will have to fend off Felix Pie for playing time.

Nolan Reimold is pain-free after undergoing surgery to repair a partially torn Achilles tendon, reports Roch Kubato of MASNSports.com.
Reimold put together an impressive rookie campaign, batting .279/.365/.466 with 15 homers, 45 RBI and eight stolen bases in 358 at-bats before undergoing surgery in late-September. Kubato writes that he is on a "normal schedule" for offseason workouts, so fantasy owners should keep the 26-year-old outfielder on their radar around draft time.

Nolan Reimold underwent successful surgery Wednesday to repair a frayed Achilles tendon.
During the procedure, doctors also shaved a bump on his heel that was rubbing on the tendon. His season is over, ending what was an impressive rookie campaign. Reimold finishes with a .279/.365/.466 batting line and 15 homers in 358 at-bats. If he reports to spring training with a full bill of health, he'll be on a lot of fantasy radars in 2010.

Orioles placed OF Nolan Reimold on the 15-day disabled list with tendinitis in his left Achilles.
He's played with discomfort for quite some time, so with his recent flare-ups it's the right move. Reimold will likely undergo surgery this offseason to repair some fraying in the Achilles. Reimold has put up solid numbers in his breakout rookie year for the O's, likely finishing with a .279/.365/.466 batting line and 15 homers in 358 at-bats. If he reports to spring training with a full bill of health, he'll be on a lot of fantasy radars in 2010.

Nolan Reimold (Achilles) is out of Wednesday's starting lineup, but could make a pinch-hit appearance.
"My Achilles flared up the last game I played in and it's pretty uncomfortable," Reimold said. "[Manager Dave Trembley is] just giving me a few days, since we're toward the end of the year. He asked me whether I'm able to pinch-hit and I told him, 'Yeah.' Hopefully, I'll be ready to go [Thursday]." Reimold is expected to undergo surgery after the season to mend the fraying in his Achilles.
