Mariners optioned RHP Brandon Morrow to Triple-A Tacoma.
Morrow goes to make room for the recently acquired Jack Hannahan. Morrow was coming off a poor start, giving up four runs over five innings to the Rangers Friday. He drew the ire of manager Don Wakamatsu by saying he didn't throw any curveballs because none were called. With a 5.28 ERA on the year and an ugly 1.78 WHIP, he's been a massive disappointment. He was slated to pitch the first game after the break for the Mariners, but that will go to Garrett Olson now. The team does not need a fifth starter again until July 25th, so you probably won't see Morrow until then as the team seems to want to shake Morrow up.
