 Garrett Olson-S - Mariners Jul. 22 - 6:40 pm et

Garrett Olson has been removed from the rotation.
Manager Don Wakamatsu would not specify who would get Olson's scheduled start on Sunday. The leaders in the clubhouse are Jason Vargas, Chris Jakubauskas and Brandon Morrow. Olson will likely be available out of the bullpen starting on Friday. The Mariners still believe in Olson's ability -- the next step is to get the lefty to pitch to it.

 Garrett Olson-S - Mariners Jul. 16 - 10:49 pm et

Garrett Olson lasted just 2 2/3 innings on Thursday night, allowing three runs -- two earned -- on five hits.
Olson had a tough time finding the strike zone, as he managed to throw just 34 of 69 pitches for strikes and issued three walks. He's been fairly effective overall but has had some hiccups with his command and tonight was one such instance. He's scheduled to face the Tigers next.
 Brandon Morrow-S - Blue Jays Jul. 11 - 8:42 pm et

Mariners optioned RHP Brandon Morrow to Triple-A Tacoma.
Morrow goes to make room for the recently acquired Jack Hannahan. Morrow was coming off a poor start, giving up four runs over five innings to the Rangers Friday. He drew the ire of manager Don Wakamatsu by saying he didn't throw any curveballs because none were called. With a 5.28 ERA on the year and an ugly 1.78 WHIP, he's been a massive disappointment. He was slated to pitch the first game after the break for the Mariners, but that will go to Garrett Olson now. The team does not need a fifth starter again until July 25th, so you probably won't see Morrow until then as the team seems to want to shake Morrow up.
 Garrett Olson-S - Mariners Jun. 28 - 7:07 pm et

Garrett Olson yielded just two runs in five innings to beat the Dodgers on Sunday.
Olson struck out three, walked one, and hit a batter. He also gave up just four hits, though one of them was a solo homer to Matt Kemp. Olson is now 3-2 with a 4.81 ERA and a solid 1.23 WHIP in 14 appearances split evenly between the rotation and bullpen. He's not worth using this week with the Red Sox on the docket.
 Garrett Olson-S - Mariners Jun. 18 - 1:25 am et

Garrett Olson limited the Padres to three runs on two hits over six innings in a 4-3 win on Wednesday night.
The only hits were a pair of home runs -- the first one a solo shot by Kevin Kouzmanoff; the second one a two-run homer by Chase Headley, set up by a walk to Adrian Gonzalez. Olson was spotless besides that, striking out four and throwing 62 of 94 pitches for strikes. He has a 4.30 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in 11 games this season.
