General manager Frank Wren said Martin Prado will be the Braves' second baseman in 2010.
"I think we watched Martin Prado become our everyday second baseman in the second half," said Wren. "And I think that going into spring training, there’s no reason to think anything’s changed." As Kelly Johnson struggled, Prado took the second base job and ran with it, batting .307/.358/.464 with 11 homers, 49 RBI and 38 doubles. His .822 OPS ranked fifth among major league second baseman in 2009. With multiple-position eligibility, he should have plenty of value in drafts next season. With Prado seemingly in the clear, look for the Braves to utilize Johnson as a trade chip.

Martin Prado was a late scratch Wednesday after getting hit with a line drive in the knee during batting practice.
The ball came off the bat of none other than Kelly Johnson, the man who Prado replaced in the starting lineup earlier this season. Johnson drew Wednesday's start. Consider Prado day-to-day until results of his MRI are released.

Kelly Johnson is 8-for-23 (.348) with three extra base hits since being activated off the disabled list.
Martin Prado is scorching hot and is the clear starter at second base. However, Johnson is starting to force himself into more playing time. Keep an eye on this situation; Johnson may become an option in NL-only leagues.

Martin Prado was nailed with a line drive during pre-game batting practice Thursday, leaving him with a deep ankle bruise.
X-rays were negative, but it sounds like Prado will miss a couple of games. Kelly Johnson started at second base and is likely to get a few starts this weekend. Prado is batting .313/.375/.473 in 243 at-bats this season.

Kelly Johnson hit one of three Brave homers in a 10-2 win versus the Brewers on Sunday.
Brian McCann and Casey Kotchman also homered, with both McCann and Johnson adding a pair of doubles each and Johnson also kicking in a stolen base. The outing was Johnson's first start since returning from wrist tendinitis, but he was only spelling Chipper Jones for a day. With Martin Prado yet to cool off, Johnson will have to continue serving as a bench player for now.

Braves activated 2B Kelly Johnson from the 15-day disabled list.
Johnson has been out since July 3 with wrist tendinitis, but hit .308 and recorded 16 RBI in 12 rehab games and should make for a nice addition to the Braves' bench. His old job at second base has been scooped up by Martin Prado.
