Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Kevin Slowey will have surgery on his right wrist, and is likely done for the season.
Tough break for Slowey and the Twins, but it's good they finally got it right. Slowey has been on the disabled list since July 4, and was going to attempt a rehab assignment over the weekend, but couldn't play catch without feeling pain in the wrist. He is 10-3 with a 4.86 ERA in 16 starts this season. He has an outside shot of returning in September. Anthony Swarzak immediately benefits in AL-only leagues. Source: Minneapolis Star-Tribune
