Matt LaPorta is out of the lineup Wednesday with hip inflammation.
No word yet on how long he has been dealing with the injury. It flared up Tuesday while he rounded third in the second inning. Manager Eric Wedge said he believes the injury is a byproduct of LaPorta's recent move from the outfield to first base. "You're using different muscles at first base," Wedge said. "It's a lot more squatting and bending." Regardless, the Indians will keep LaPorta at first for the duration of the season because they believe that is his long-term position. For now, consider him day-to-day. Source: MLB.com
