 Alexi Casilla-2B- TwinsOct. 6 - 10:24 pm et
Alexi Casilla knocked a walkoff RBI single to right field in the 12th inning Tuesday as the Twins won the AL Central tiebreaker over the Tigers 6-5.
Casilla cost the Twins a chance at an earlier victory when he failed to execute a tag from third base on a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning. Of course, no one will remember that now. The Twins played fantastic all-around baseball and captured an epic win at the Metrodome Tuesday night, with highlight reel plays in the field and at the plate. They'll now face the Yankees in Game 1 of the ALDS, which begins on Wednesday evening in the Bronx.

 Alexi Casilla-2B - Twins Aug. 24 - 11:07 pm et

Alexi Casilla went 2-for-3 with a triple in the Twins' win over the Orioles on Monday night, raising his average above .200 for the first time since April.
Casilla has looked dreadful for much of the season and entered August with a miserable 472 OPS, but he's looked worlds better both offensively and defensively in recent weeks and is now hitting .333 this month. He figures to hold down regular second base duties in Minnesota for the remainder of the season.
 Alexi Casilla-2B - Twins Aug. 18 - 2:54 am et

Alexi Casilla returned to action on Monday and went 0-for-2 after replacing an ailing Justin Morneau.
Just a slight downgrade there. Casilla didn't play Sunday because of a foot injury.
 Alexi Casilla-2B - Twins Aug. 16 - 11:59 am et

Alexi Casilla was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Indians.
Casilla is apparently hampered by a foot injury. He's batting a disappointing .182/.271/.227 this season with no homers and 12 RBI in 176 at-bats, so a bit of rest should be good for everyone. Nick Punto is manning second base.

 Mark Grudzielanek-2B - Indians Aug. 10 - 5:04 pm et

Twins released second baseman Mark Grudzielanek.
Grudzielanek hit .267 (8-for-30) in eight games with Double-A New Britain. He also made two errors at second base. This likely signals the end of the 39-year-old's career. Unfortunately for the Twins, it also means that Nick Punto and Alexi Casilla will patrol second base for the club down the stretch of a pennant race.
 Alexi Casilla-2B - Twins Jul. 29 - 10:59 pm et

Alexi Casilla was 2-for-3 with two RBI in a win over the White Sox on Wednesday night.
Who needs that Freddy Sanchez guy anyway? Hitting out of the No. 9 spot in the order, Casilla chipped in with an RBI ground rule double in the second and a go-ahead RBI single in the sixth. Still, he's batting just .171 in 152 at-bats this season.
