Pirates pitching prospect Bryan Morris has rejoined Single-A Lynchburg's starting rotation.
Morris was sent to the Pirates' spring training facility to work on "mechanical and maturity issues" after an on-field blowup in late July. The 22-year-old right-hander is 2-6 with a 5.91 ERA this season.

Pirates pitching prospect Bryan Morris has been sent to Bradenton, Florida to work on "mechanical and maturity issues."
Morris was suspended by the Pirates this weekend for berating an umpire during a gam at Single-A Lynchburg. "We could have tried to sweep it under the rug because of the hype surrounding him," said GM Neal Huntington, "but we chose to treat him no differently than anybody in the organization." The 22-year-old right-hander is 2-6 with a 5.91 ERA this season.

The Pirates have suspended prospect Bryan Morris for "unprofessionalism" displayed during his start with Single-A Lynchburg on Thursday.
"Through various comments and actions during his outing the other night, he disrespected the umpires, his manager, his teammates and the organization," director of player development Kyle Stark said. The main piece in the Jason Bay trade, Morris has been a huge disappointment this season, going 2-6 with a 5.91 ERA in 10 starts. The Pirates said that he will remain on the minor league suspended list "indefinitely."

Pirates prospect Bryan Morris could miss 4-6 weeks due to an impingement in his shoulder.
Nothing is wrong with the shoulder structurally, but Morris is suffering from a restricted range of motion that is hindering his ability to throw. The Pirates acquired Morris from the Dodgers in the Manny Ramirez-Jason Bay trade last summer.

Pirates prospect Bryan Morris has been placed on the minor league disabled list due to shoulder inflammation.
He was slowed in spring training rehabbing from offseason toe surgery, but was expected to start with Single-A Lynchburg this week. This is the latest in series of injuries for Morris, who had Tommy John surgery before being traded to the Pirates. Morris was acquired from the Dodgers in last July's Manny Ramirez-Jason Bay trade.
