He allowed three runs in 5 2/3 innings (five appearances) with the Rockies in '09.

Rockies designated RHP Ryan Speier for assignment.
Speier didn't really a get a fair shake this season in Colorado. He has spent most of the '09 campaign on the disabled list and was finally activated this week -- only to be DFA'd. Poor guy. His 3.99 career ERA should help him find a job elsewhere if the Rox end up releasing him.

Rockies activated RHP Ryan Speier from the 15-day disabled list.
Speier was placed on the disabled list way back on April 21 due to an injured left hamstring, but he dealt with some shoulder soreness during his rehab. He returns to a 4.76 ERA over five appearances.

Ryan Speier's rehab assignment has been put on hold as he deals with a bit of soreness in the back of his shoulder.
Speier was originally placed on the disabled list April 21 with an injured left hamstring. He's had problems with his command in a few rehab outings and may not return to the Rockies before the end of June.

The Rockies will extend Ryan Speier's rehab time while correcting issues with his delivery.
Speier's left hamstring is fully healthy, but he developed a hitch in his delivery while trying to compensate for the injury. "We're really trying to refine him -- not redefine him -- and get him locked into an arm slot, parallel to the ground," manager Clint Hurdle said.

Ryan Speier (hamstring) pitched a scoreless inning Wednesday for Single-A Modesto in his first rehab appearance.
Speier is expected to be left in the minors to make several appearances, though that could change if the Rockies have need of a fresh arm early next week.
