According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, Nyjer Morgan was suspended eight games for his actions over the past week.
Specifically, Morgan ran into Cardinals backup catcher Bryan Anderson on Saturday, flattened Marlins catcher Brett Hayes on Tuesday and incited a benches-clearing brawl by charging the mound on Wednesday. This is bad enough on its own, but he was also seen jawing with fans on separate occasions. Major league baseball probably didn't like that too much. He's expected to go through the appeals process, but if both suspensions hold up, Morgan could miss a total of 15 games. Source: Jon Heyman on Twitter
