The Angels were pleased with the results of Jason Bulger's bullpen session Wednesday and have cleared him for action.
The Angels training staff wanted to be sure he showed no abnormal soreness in his shoulder Thursday or Friday. Bulger, a right-hander, went 6-1 with a 3.56 ERA in 64 relief appearances during the regular season.

Jason Bulger (shoulder) said he has "no doubt" that he will be available for Game 1 of the NLDS against the Red Sox.
Bulger came down with shoulder soreness on the final weekend of the regular season. "Everything feels good right now," he said Tuesday at Angel Stadium. "I'm very convinced I'll be ready to go. I have no doubt in my mind." The right-hander went 6-1 with a 3.56 ERA in 64 appearances this season.

Jason Bulger will test his sore right arm with a bullpen session Tuesday afternoon at Angels Stadium.
Bulger was given a cortisone shot in his arm this weekend to curb some of the pain and discomfort. He's hoping that will take care of everything. "You work all year to get here, you don't want to do anything that might hurt your team... I think I'll be all right, good to go." The Halos don't begin their playoff run until Thursday, so he does have some time to get well.

Jason Bulger was pulled from Saturday's game with tightness in his right shoulder.
Bulger had been shut down in late August for 10 days with a separate shoulder problem, so the Angels are being cautious here. The 30-year old has a 3.56 ERA in 65 2/3 innings on the year, developing into one of Mike Scioscia's most trusted relievers. He should be fine for the postseason.
