 Brandon McCarthy-S - Rangers Dec. 8 - 1:45 am et

Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports the Rangers are hearing trade interest in right-hander Brandon McCarthy.
McCarthy has battled injuries over the past two seasons and has been limited to just 22 starts. But he's done fairly well when healthy, posting an 8-5 record and a 4.53 ERA in that span. The Rangers have a good amount of pitching depth and are hoping to deal from that strength for a bat.

Brandon McCarthy allowed four runs over 4 2/3 innings against the Mariners on Friday night, taking a no-decision in an eventual 7-4 win.
McCarthy was in the driver's seat until surrendering three runs in the fourth. Limited to just 17 starts due to a shoulder injury, he finishes the season with a 7-4 record to go along with a 4.62 ERA and 1.36 WHIP. He went 2-2 with a 4.05 ERA over six starts since returning from the disabled list on September 1. With improved mechanics, he's expected to compete for a job in the starting rotation next spring.

Brandon McCarthy was denied a win after limiting the Rays to two unearned runs in 7 2/3 innings on Sunday.
Both runs came in the eighth. McCarthy recorded the first two outs of the inning without incident, but he then allowed hits to Jason Bartlett and Carl Crawford and was pulled. The runners came around to score off Darren O'Day. McCarthy was still in line for the win even then. However, Frank Francisco blew a three-run lead in the ninth to take the loss.

Brandon McCarthy is having his start pushed back a day.
McCarthy was originally supposed to pitch Monday, but will now pitch Tuesday on six days' rest. Tommy Hunter will move up and pitch on normal rest. McCarthy was just activated from the 60-day disabled list, so the Rangers understandably are taking it slow.

 Brandon McCarthy-S - Rangers Sep. 1 - 11:38 pm et

Brandon McCarthy allowed a single run over 6 1/3 innings in a 5-2 win over the Blue Jays on Tuesday night.
His first start since June 4, McCarthy was solid in his return, limiting the Blue Jays to just three hits while striking out two and walking two. He actually held the Jays scoreless until an RBI double by Lyle Overbay in the seventh inning. The Rangers could really use his presence down the stretch, but McCarthy isn't worth touching beyond AL-only leagues.
