Trevor Cahill was tagged for six runs over 4 2/3 innings in 6-4 loss to the Mariners on Tuesday night.
And so, a string of of eight straight starts of three runs or less comes to an end. Cahill cruised over the first four innings, but was chased by giving up five runs in the fifth. It was his first loss since August 11. The 21-year-old is 10-13 with a 4.63 ERA over his first 32 big-league starts.

Trevor Cahill held the Rangers to one run over 5 1/3 innings in a 9-1 win on Tuesday night.
Cahill scattered six hits against two walks and one strikeout, winning his second straight start against the Rangers. He induced 11 groundballs, including a pair of key double plays. Cahill has won four straight decisions and now sits at 10-12 with a 4.45 ERA in 31 starts this season. The 21-year-old rookie toes the rubber against the Angels next.

Trevor Cahill and two relievers combined on a one-hit shutout over the Rangers on Wednesday night.
Cahill was brilliant, holding the Rangers to a lone second-inning single by Marlon Byrd over seven innings. The 21-year-old righty walked two while striking out a career-high seven. Now 9-12 with a 4.54 ERA, Cahill has won three straight decisions. And what do you know, he gets the Rangers again next week.

He walked two and struck out two, inducing 12 ground ball outs in the dominant effort. Cahill has been locked in during his past four starts and warrants serious consideration against the Royals next week.

Trevor Cahill held the Tigers to two runs over seven innings as the A's picked up a late-innings victory on Saturday night.
Cahill walked three, but countered that stat with four strikeouts and limited a tough Detroit lineup to just five hits. He has a 4.86 ERA and 1.48 WHIP on the season and has a tough task against the Angels next.

Trevor Cahill limited the White Sox to two runs in six innings on Sunday.
He didn't factor into the decision, but his owners will glady take it as it was just the second time in 10 outings that Cahill gave up two runs or less. The rookie's groundball tendencies are nice, but a 70/57 K/BB and 25 homers in as many starts show he's got plenty of work to do.
