According to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times, the Dodgers have denied a Japanese club's effort to purchase the contract of Eric Stults.
Stults, 30, has struggled to find an identity in the major leagues but the Dodgers still value the depth he brings to their organization. He went 4-3 with a 4.86 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP in 10 starts with the Dodgers this year and 5-4 with a 4.79 ERA in 13 starts at Triple-A Albuquerque.

Dodgers optioned LHP Eric Stults to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Stults allowed three earned runs over five innings in a loss to the Braves on Sunday. He may be recalled in a couple of days if the Dodgers still have question marks in their starting rotation. The 29-year-old is 4-3 this season with a 4.86 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP.

Dodgers recalled LHP Eric Stults from Triple-A Albuquerque.
The Dodgers wanted to start Scott Elbert today, but they ended up turning back to Stults instead. He was worthy of another opportunity after going 4-2 with a 4.80 ERA in nine early-season starts. His record was better before he hurt his thumb in mid-May.

Dodgers activated LHP Eric Stults from the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Stults' thumb is now pain free. If he pitches well in his next couple of minor league starts, he could rejoin the Dodgers' rotation after the All-Star break. Stults has posted a 4.80 ERA and 30/25 K/BB ratio in nine starts this season.

Eric Stults (thumb) was pain free after throwing 4 1/3 innings for Single-A Inland Empire Monday.
Stults is expected to make his next rehab start with Triple-A Albuquerque later this week. If he can get up to 90 pitches, the Dodgers will likely activate him next week.

Dodgers placed LHP Eric Stults on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained thumb on his pitching hand.
