Aaron Laffey was hammered for eight earned runs in just two innings of work Saturday in a loss to the Red Sox.
Laffey was handed a lead in the top of the first inning, but decided to spoil it just a few moments later. He's had issues with control this season and struggled again to find the strike zone Saturday night. After finishing the 2009 season with a 7-9 record, 4.44 ERA and 1.62 WHIP, he'll rightfully go undrafted in most leagues next spring.

Aaron Laffey held the White Sox to three runs over 7 1/3 innings in a losing effort on Monday night.
Laffey has taken a loss in each of his past five turns, even though three of them have been quality starts. Tonight he lasted into the eighth inning in a start for just the second time this season, and notched five strikeouts while limiting the damage rendered by eight hits and three walks. If Laffey can start finding the strike zone with more consistency, he can be a strong weapon for the Tribe next season.

Aaron Laffey gave up just one run over 6 2/3 innings on Tuesday night, but suffered a tough 3-1 loss.
Tough loss for Laffey, who has dropped four straight decisions and is without a win since August 16. Though he allowed just one run -- a solo homer by Ryan Raburn in the third inning -- Laffey gave up seven hits and walked three, tossing just 51 of 94 pitches for strikes. Laffey is now 7-7 with a 3.93 ERA in 23 games (17 starts) this season. The Indians have lost nine in a row.

Aaron Laffey hurled 6 2/3 shutout innings in a 5-0 win over the Rangers on Tuesday night.
Laffey was not overpowering, striking out just two and walking three, but he effectively danced out of danger whenever he had to. Laffey takes a 6-3 record and a 3.25 ERA into this weekend's game against the Twins.

Aaron Laffey held the Twins to a single unearned run over eight innings in an 8-1 win on Wednesday night.
Laffey continues to have great success by keeping the ball in the park. He has allowed just two homers in 65 1/3 innings this season. He held the Twins to just six hits on Tuesday, fanning five while walking just one. He's not a tremendous play if you are looking for strikeouts, but he's good enough for AL-only leagues.

Aaron Laffey was tagged for seven runs -- six earned -- in four innings by the Angels on Wednesday.
The Indians aren't sure whether Laffey works best in the rotation or the pen, but he's probably going to be a starter for the rest of this yer with Cliff Lee gone. He is a decent enough play in 4x4 AL-only leagues, but he's a spot starter in strikeout leagues.
