Rick VandenHurk yielded two runs over six innings in a 7-2 win over the Phillies on Friday night.
VandenHurk gave up a two-run bomb to Ryan Howard in the first, but settled down for five scoreless frames after that. He fanned two and walked one, earning his first win since August 10. The 24-year-old Dutchman's season comes to a close at 3-2 with a 4.30 ERA. He's a potentially a useful arm, but he'll have a tough time locking down a spot in the rotation next spring. |
