Pirates recalled SS Brian Bixler from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Bixler had quite the stint in the majors earlier this year, whiffing 18 times in 25 at-bats. The 26-year old has a .278/.350/.457 line in Indianapolis, the strongest line he's had in his Triple-A career spanning three years. With wide open jobs available at shortstop and second base and the ability to play center, Bixler has a real chance to play often the rest of the way. He might be worth a look-see in deep NL-only leagues.
