 Julio Borbon-DH- RangersDec. 7 - 4:11 pm et
According to Rangers manager Ron Washington, Julio Borbon is officially the club's new center fielder and leadoff hitter.
Josh Hamilton will move to left field and Nelson Cruz will play right. David Murphy, meanwhile, will be the fourth outfielder and also occasionally play designated hitter. If the team signs Marlon Byrd, this entire hierarchy would change, but that doesn't appear likely at this point. Byrd has said he will probably decline the team's arbitration offer, and Texas is probably better off taking the Type B compensation he will net them by leaving.

 Julio Borbon-DH - Rangers Oct. 3 - 9:31 am et

Julio Borbon started in center field Friday night and is expected to get the nod there on both Saturday and Sunday.
Borbon had made 14 starts in left field and 21 at designated hitter before Friday, but played center during most of his time this season at Triple-A Oklahoma City. "I feel like I’m a very good defensive outfielder with some work to do," he said. "I’ve come a long way with my outfield skills. I’ve got some room for improvement, but it’s more in experience than in skills."

 Julio Borbon-DH - Rangers Sep. 27 - 9:45 am et

The Rangers plan to give Julio Borbon several starts in center field once the team is eliminated from the postseason.
You would think the Rangers would be more interested in evaluating Borbon than pretending they're still in the thick of the race. Manager Ron Washington said it’s too early to tell if the rookie is the team’s centerfielder of the future. The key to the 23-year old manning center next season is dependent on reading the ball off the bat. Borbon should be on your fantasy radar for 2010, especially if Texas thins out their outfield depth by letting Marlon Byrd leave as a free agent.

 Julio Borbon-DH - Rangers Sep. 22 - 12:59 am et

Julio Borbon finished 3-for-5 with a stolen base and two RBI in Monday night's win over the A's.
Borbon is reaching base at a .377 clip, and he has put his excellent speed to good use by going 16-for-17 on stolen base attempts. His combination of speed and power makes him a tremendous force in the leadoff spot for the Rangers.
 Julio Borbon-DH - Rangers Sep. 13 - 1:05 am et

Julio Borbon knocked a three-run homer in a losing effort against the Mariners on a rain-soaked Saturday night in Texas.
Borbon has found a home at the DH spot and should continue to draw starts through September. He's batting .316 with four dingers and 13 RBI in 24 games since his promotion from Triple-A OKC.
 Josh Hamilton-OF - Rangers Sep. 11 - 6:36 pm et

Josh Hamilton was given a cortisone shot in his ailing back Friday and will be shut down for at least a week.
Hamilton met with Dr. Robert Watkins before Friday's game to get a second opinion on his back. After a short examination, the cortisone shot was administered. Julio Borbon will continue to draw starts at designated hitter and will need to continue raking if the Rangers are serious about making a run at the AL Wild Card. David Murphy is playing left field Friday with Marlon Byrd in center.
