| Ross Detwiler's 2010 Profile | | Detwiler, the sixth overall pick in 2007, found himself overshadowed heading into last year by the Nationals’ subsequent selection in that draft, Jordan Zimmermann, and later by the top overall pick in the 2009 draft, Stephen Strasburg. That might be for the best, though. The left-hander was able to bounce back from his disappointing 2008 and still did not receive any hype while amassing a 3.05 ERA in 16 minor league starts. He also held his own in 14 starts for the Nationals following his call up. Detwiler needs to gain consistency, but with his low-90s fastball and plus curveball, he has the makings of a nice third starter.
