Indians recalled catcher-infielder Chris Gimenez from Triple-A Columbus.
Gimenez is 26 years old and has hit just .257/.341/.396 in 93 games at Triple-A, so don't expect him to get much playing time. He can play first base, third base and the outfield corners, and also gives the Indians some insurance at catcher in case Victor Martinez's knee injury proves significant.
