Brewers claimed RHP Nick Green off waivers from the Angels.
Green finished 8-8 with a 5.32 ERA last season, but that was in the PCL and at Salt Lake, one of the best environments for hitters in the minors. He has pretty good command of an average arsenal, making him a fringe fifth-starter type. With little pitching depth in the upper levels of the minors, the Brewers have use for another one of those. He'll head back to Triple-A for the start of the year.

The Angels have reportedly asked for outright waivers on right-hander Nick Green.
The team hasn't signed anyone recently, so the curious timing of the move suggests that Green is either hurt or he was involved in some sort of off-the-field incident. The third possibility is that the Angels are preemptively clearing room to make a move. They're rumored to have interest in Bobby Abreu.
