White Sox GM Kenny Williams said Friday that Gordon Beckham will serve as the club's starting second baseman in 2010.
Chris Getz and Josh Fields were shipped to the Royals on Friday for Mark Teahen, who will take over at third base in Chicago. "I can't seem to find the position I've played my whole career," Beckham, a natural shortstop, told MLB.com. He started over 100 games at third base in '09, but this is the most logical way for the White Sox to fit Teahen into the lineup.

Beckham had the decisive blow with a two-run blast in the sixth, denying Eddie Bonine's no-hit bid. The impressive rookie is now hitting .267/.345/.463 with 14 homers and 58 RBI in 352 at-bats. He has six home runs this month.

Gordon Beckham went 3-for-4 with a solo home run Saturday as the White Sox snagged an extra-innings win over the Angels.
Beckham hurt his middle finger earlier this week while doing pregame infield work, but showed no issues at all Saturday afternoon in Anaheim. He's hitting .277 in his rookie season with seven stolen bases, 11 home runs and 53 runs batted in over 307 at-bats.

Beckham didn't sound concerned and said he originally hurt the finger last Thursday against the Cubs. He has been sidelined recently with a sore right oblique. The rookie has hit .274/.350/.458 in 299 at-bats this season.
