Xavier Paul (staph infection) was released from hospital Thursday.
This is good news for Paul, as staph infections can be fatal if not treated properly. He still requires a few more weeks to recover before he'll be able to play again and doctors will not allow Paul to rush back to action from this type of ailment.

Xavier Paul remained in the hospital Friday after team doctors discovered a staph infection in his knee. The Dodgers have placed him on the 15-day disabled list.
The infection started in a scrape Paul suffered Sunday while sliding into second base. The Dodgers will have to wait until the skin is completely healed over the knee before Paul can play again, which could take as long as a couple of weeks.

Xavier Paul has had only four at-bats since being called up from the minors on May 7.
The Dodgers may have to send him back down just to keep him from rusting. "It's definitely an issue," Joe Torre said. "If we sense that he's not getting enough at-bats, then chances are that we'll flop [him] with somebody else."
