Mariners re-signed OF Brad Nelson to a minor league contract.
Nelson, 27, had a .247/.322/.451 batting line, nine doubles, 15 homers and 45 RBI in 275 at-bats last season for Triple-A Tacoma. He still has some potential but he isn't going to make an impact in the bigs this year.

Mariners signed outfielder Brad Nelson to a minor league contract.
Nelson will report to Triple-A Tacoma. He was outrighted to the minors by the Brewers last week and opted for free agency instead. The 26-year-old outfielder went 0-for-21 with the Brewers, but hit .354 this spring and still has some potential.

Outfielder Brad Nelson has opted for free agency.
Nelson was outrighted to Triple-A by the Brewers on Thursday but had the right to choose free agency and exercised it. He went 0-for-21 to start the season, but hit .354 in spring training and will draw a little interest from other teams. He was a fourth round pick in 2001.

Brewers outrighted Brad Nelson to Triple-A Nashville.
The one-time top prospect went 0-for-21 to start the season and was sent down to clear room for Mat Gamel. Nelson looked like he might finally fulfill his potential after hitting .354 in spring training, but it was not to be.
 Frank Catalanotto-OF - Mets May. 12 - 3:05 pm et

Ken Rosenthal is reporting that Frank Catalanotto has signed a contract with the Milwaukee Brewers.
Catalanotto will report to extended spring training, get his legs under him then join the Brewers' Double- or Triple-A team. He could hit the majors around June 1 and give the Brewers the lefty bat they need. He figures to serve as a backup outfielder and pinch-hitter, possibly deposing Brad Nelson (0-20 on the season).
