Lastings Milledge had two more hits, including an RBI double, on Saturday to raise his average to .300.
Milledge is red hot. About the only way to cool him off would be to have him sacrifice bunt in the ninth inning of a tie game. Which he did, of course. After Garrett Jones singled to start the ninth, manager John Russell had Milledge bunt against Blake Hawksworth, even though there were a bunch of .230 hitters coming up behind him. He got the bunt down, then watched as Steve Pearce and Ronny Cedeno made outs to end the frame with the bases loaded. The Pirates, appropriately, ended up losing in 10 innings.
