Braves optioned outfielder Gregor Blanco to Triple-A Gwinnett.

 Gregor Blanco-OF - Braves Jun. 2 - 4:26 pm et

Braves recalled outfielder Gregor Blanco from Triple-A Gwinnett.
He was hitting just .242 at Triple-A this season, but has gotten hot lately with a .350 average in his last 10 games. Blanco has very little in the way of power, but should be useful to owners in need of speed in NL-only formats.
 Gregor Blanco-OF - Braves Jun. 2 - 4:04 pm et

Gregor Blanco is reportedly starting in center field for the Braves Tuesday night.
This contradicts an earlier report stating that the Braves were set to stick with Jordan Schafer in center, but now indications are that Schafer could be optioned to Triple-A to make room for Blanco. Nothing has been made official with regard to Schafer's status, but owners in NL-only leagues should go ahead and grab Blanco off waivers.

 Gregor Blanco-OF - Braves Jun. 2 - 2:55 pm et

Despite a recent hot stretch at Triple-A, the Braves haven't made any indication that they plan to promote Gregor Blanco and send down the struggling Jordan Schafer.
Since May 7, Schafer has hit .160 with 25 strikeouts, a .229 on-base percentage and .187 slugging percentage. Meanwhile, over the past two weeks, Blanco has hit .348 (16-for-46) with a .426 on-base percentage and .391 slugging percentage. Owners in NL-only leagues should keep Blanco on the radar.

 Manny Acosta-R - Braves Apr. 4 - 3:39 pm et

Braves optioned RHP Manny Acosta, LHP Boone Logan, OF Gregor Blanco and OF Brandon Jones to Triple-A Gwinnett; reassigned RHP Kris Medlen, INF Brooks Conrad and C J.C. Boscan to minor league camp.
Acosta had a shaky spring and several Braves relievers are out of options, so he'll head to Triple-A for a little while. He still figures to have a significant role in Atlanta's pen this season. Logan was beaten out by Eric O'Flaherty for the situational-lefty role.
 Jordan Schafer-OF - Braves Apr. 3 - 6:35 pm et

Jordan Schafer has won the Braves' center-field job.
Schafer was an underdog coming into camp, but Josh Anderson's trade to Detroit left only Gregor Blanco as competition. Blanco has been informed that he will open the season in Triple-A after Schafer earned the job with a .344/.373/.500 line this spring. He's too strikeout prone to hit for a high average right now, but he should be pretty valuable in NL-only leagues anyway.
