Angels released RHP Rudy Seanez.
Seanez signed a minor league contract with the club in May. He surrendered four earned runs in nine innings for Triple-A Salt Lake. The 40-year-old Seanez went 5-4 with a 3.53 ERA in 42 games last season for the Phillies. He will look for another minor league deal, but Seanez might have reached the end of the line.

Rudy Seanez has been assigned to Triple-A Salt Lake after an impressive two weeks at extended spring training.
Seanez could shoot through the system pretty quickly and join the Angels' bullpen in a few weeks. The Halos are craving a veteran presence after losing Scot Shields to patella tendinitis.

According to Angels GM Tony Reagins, Rudy Seanez "threw the ball pretty well" in an extended spring training game Wednesday.
Seanez was signed to a minor league contract about one week ago. "He didn’t have any spring training so he’s just building up his arm strength," Reagins added. The 40-year-old could be ready to help the Angels in a few weeks. They're in dire need of veteran bullpen depth with Scot Shields sidelined.

According to the L.A. Times, the Angels are close to inking veteran reliever Rudy Seanez to a minor league contract.
Seanez, 40, went 5-4 with a 3.53 ERA in 42 games last season for the Phillies. He'll start out at Triple-A Salt Lake, where he'll provide middle relief depth. The Angels' bullpen boasts a 2-9 record, a major league-worst 6.90 ERA and five blown saves this season.
