According to Ed Price of AOL Fanhouse, the Reds may be forced to trade one or two of their stars this winter as an overall cost-cutting maneuver.
Cincinnati's payroll stood at $71 million in 2009 and sources have indicated it must be cut closer to $65 million for 2010. "We're going to probably have less to spend this year than we have in the past," Reds general manager Walt Jocketty admitted Tuesday. "It just depends on how [ticket] sales go this offseason." Price suggests Brandon Phillips, Bronson Arroyo or Aaron Harang could be on the move.

 Bronson Arroyo-S - Reds Oct. 4 - 1:19 pm et

Bronson Arroyo won't undergo surgery this winter for carpal tunnel syndrome in his right wrist.
Arroyo's wrist issues are more of an issue when it comes to playing guitar -- perhaps his favorite hobby -- than throwing a baseball. He said he plans to keep playing this winter, but that he'll quit prior to spring training.
 Bronson Arroyo-S - Reds Oct. 1 - 4:01 pm et

Bronson Arroyo has denied cheating allegations brought by Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa.
St. Louis pitching coach Dave Duncan also pointed a finger at Arroyo, saying that he pitched so effectively against the Redbirds by using pine tar on his cap to get a grip on the ball. The opposing pitcher, John Smoltz, was complaining all game long about the balls being too slick. Arroyo said the stain on his cap is from mud used to rub baseballs at other stadiums. After a poor start to the season, Arroyo finished 15-13 with a 3.84 ERA and bolstered his trade value.
 Bronson Arroyo-S - Reds Sep. 30 - 10:58 pm et

Bronson Arroyo hurled 8 1/3 innings of one-run ball in a 6-1 win over the Cardinals on Wednesday night.
Make that 13 consecutive quality starts to finish the season. Arroyo was brilliant yet again, yielding just four hits while walking one and striking out six. The only run scored on a fourth-inning single by Albert Pujols. On the strength of a strong finish, Arroyo completes the 2009 season at 15-13 with a 3.84 ERA. It wouldn't be the worst idea to hold onto him, but Arroyo has certainly boosted his trade value.
 Bronson Arroyo-S - Reds Sep. 24 - 3:32 pm et

Bronson Arroyo beat the Pirates by allowing one run in seven innings on Thursday.
Lastings Milledge's solo shot was the only damage. Arroyo is working on a string of 12 straight quality starts, during which time he's lowered his ERA from 5.21 to 3.95. It's come too late to do the Reds much good this year, but it will probably make his contract tradeable this winter, if the team wants to go that route. He's owed $11 million next year, and he has an $11 million option on his deal for 2011.
 Bronson Arroyo-S - Reds Sep. 14 - 10:32 pm et

Bronson Arroyo allowed only one run over seven innings on Monday night as the Reds topped the Astros 3-1.
Arroyo allowed only six hits and no walks tonight against six strikeouts, and is just cooking right now. Since allowing five runs in his first start after the All-Star break, he has rattled off 10 straight quality starts, going 3-3 with a 2.11 ERA during that span while dropping his seasonal ERA down from 5.21 to 4.07. He'll face the Marlins this weekend.
