The Ford 400 marks Busch’s 186th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start and his fifth career Sprint Cup start at Homestead.
Busch notched his best Sprint Cup result of 19th at Homestead in the 2008 Ford 400 despite running short of fuel which forced him to pit with two laps to go, thwarting a potential top-10 effort. He has led 29 laps in five Sprint Cup starts at Homestead. In addition to Sprint Cup laps led at Homestead, he has led 74 laps in the Nationwide Series and 133 laps in the Camping World Truck Series. -True Speed Communication

Busch also was penalized with the loss of 25 NASCAR Nationwide Series championship driver points while Joe Gibbs was docked 25 NASCAR Nationwide Series championship owner points. The infraction was discovered Nov. 5 during opening-day inspection (at Texas Motor Speedway). -NASCAR PR

Kyle Busch wins WIX lap leader award in the November 8th Sprint Cup Dickies 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.
The No. 18 M&M’s Toyota driver started 5th and led the most laps (232 of 334) of the drivers eligible to earn the WIX "Lap Leader" award. Busch was in the lead with 2 laps to go when he ran out of fuel. This spoiled his attempt of winning all three NASCAR races this weekend at TMS. He won the Truck and Nationwide Series races but finished 11th in the Dickies 500. He is currently 13th in the 2009 Sprint Cup point standings.

Joe Gibbs Racing officials announced Tuesday that Dave Rogers will replace Steve Addington as Kyle Busch’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series crew chief after this weekend’s race at Talladega Superspeedway.
Rogers returns to Sprint Cup after four seasons in the Nationwide Series. He guided JGR’s No. 20 team to the Nationwide owners championship last year, winning nine races. The No. 20 has won five races this year. Addington has led Busch’s No. 18 Cup team for two years, winning 12 races over that span. But Busch missed the Chase For The Sprint Cup this season. Addington will be reassigned to another position at JGR after Talladega. - Scene Daily
