Kasey Kahne is set to make his 11th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend.
Kahne scored a win at TMS during the spring race in 2006 after starting from the pole. He led 63 laps en route to the victory. In 10 starts at TMS, Kahne has accrued one win, two top-five and two top-10 finishes. Kenny Francis, crew chief on the No. 9 Budweiser Dodge driven by Kasey Kahne in the Sprint Cup AMP Energy 500 at Talladega Superspeedway wins the Moog Problem Solver of the Race award.
The award is presented to the crew chief whose team finishes in the top 10 and posts the largest increase in average lap speed (0.351 seconds) from the first half to second half of a race. Kahne moved up two spots to 9th in the 2009 Sprint Cup point standings after his 2nd place finish in the race.

Kasey Kahne leads the first practice for the November 1st Sprint Cup AMP Energy 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.
Kahne’s lap of 195.944 mph in the No. 9 Budweiser Dodge was the quickest of the 44 cars out on the track for the first practice leading to Sunday’s race. No. 11 Denny Hamlin, No. 98 Paul Menard, No. 96 Erik Darnell and No. 20 Joey Logano were the rest of the top 5 on the speed chart. No. 66 Dave Blaney, at 180.203 mph, was the slowest.
