At Phoenix International Raceway, Jeff Gordon has collected one win, three poles, eight top-fives and 15 top-tens in 21 starts.
Said the four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion: "There are close calls all the time, and it can happen at any time. I get through every race and think, 'whew, we survived this moment or that moment.' A lot still has to happen if we are going to realistically battle for the championship in the season finale. But we need to make sure we do everything in our control to secure as many points as possible this weekend. Which entails surviving hundreds of 'whew' moments." -Performance PR Plus

Jeff Gordon talks about a change that has already begun at the Talladage Superspeedway.
"It’s going to be an exciting race for the drivers and the fans, but things are definitely changing here," said the driver of the No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet. "We saw it a little bit last year and again here in April – two cars working together could separate themselves from the bigger pack. We’re still going to see three-and-four-wide racing with a big pack of 30 to 40 cars, but you could see some breakaways during the race and again at the end." - Performance PR Plus
