In nine Cup starts at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Mark Martin has posted four top-five finishes, including the runner-up spot in the 2005 Sprint Cup finale.
In his last three races at Homestead, he has spent almost 70 percent of the time (558 of a possible 802 laps) inside the top 15. Martin, who ran part-time schedules in 2007 and 2008, did not compete in the final race of the 2008 Sprint Cup season at Homestead. In 2007, he drove his Chevrolet to a ninth-place finish, scoring his fifth top-10 result at the intermediate track. -Hendrick Motorsports

Mark Martin won the April event at Phoenix International Raceway, marking his first Sprint Cup victory in 98 starts.
The win was his first of five this season and made him the fourth driver older than 50 to win in NASCAR's elite series. He started the April 18, 2009, race from the pole position and led 157 laps on his way to Victory Lane. It was his second career win at Phoenix. He scored his first victory at the one-mile track on Oct. 31, 1993. In 25 Cup starts at PIR, Martin also has earned 10 top-five finishes and 16 top-10s. -Hendrick Motorsports

Two years later, on May 10, 1997, Martin climbed from his 18th starting spot to earn his second win at the Alabama racetrack. No driver in NASCAR Sprint Cup has won more October races at Lowe's Motor Speedway than Mark Martin.
If the No. 5 team can reach Victory Lane on Saturday, he would break a three-way tie with Bobby Allison and Cale Yarborough to become the only driver with four October wins. Martin also would join teammates Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon as the only active drivers with five victories at the intermediate oval. - Hendrick Motorsports
