Derrick Rose, having been selected as an All-Star reserve, has been excused from playing in the 2010 T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam.
Rose will be replaced by Warriors guard Anthony Morrow. In addition, the Chicago guard will also face-off against Steve Nash, Brandon Jennings, and Deron Williams in the Taco Bell Skills Challenge.

Deron Williams returned to action on Monday with 18 points, seven rebounds, 15 assists, two steals -- and the same beard he's had throughout Utah's six-game win streak.
D-Will missed one game to attend his uncle's funeral but was still able to appreciate his first selection to the All-Star team. He also appreciated getting a few days off -- "Rest is always good at this point in the season," he said. "And missing a couple days, it's not going to hurt me, it's probably going to help. I'm ready to go."

Andrei Kirilenko participated in Monday's shootaround and, along with Deron Williams, is set to start for the Jazz tonight.
Both players should be in fantasy lineups this week. Williams missed his last game due to a funeral, while Kirilenko was dealing with a stomach virus on Sunday.

Deron Williams, who missed Friday's game due to a funeral, also missed practice on Sunday but is expected to play Monday against the Mavericks.
Go ahead and get him back into your lineups with confidence. A slightly rusty and possibly preoccupied Williams is better than most other options you can find in fantasy leagues.

Rajon Rondo, Deron Williams and Derrick Rose have been selected as All-Stars for the first time, according to Yahoo! Sports.
It's a well-deserved honor for all three young point guards, each of whom have their respective teams in the playoffs. Al Horford (13.6 points, 9.8 rebounds) got the nod over David Lee (19.4 points, 11.4 boards) in the East, but there were no true snubs in the West. Besides Rondo, Rose and Horford, the East reserves are Chris Bosh, Paul Pierce, Gerald Wallace and Joe Johnson. Other than Williams, the West reserves are Chris Paul, Pau Gasol, Kevin Durant, Zach Randolph, Dirk Nowitzki and Brandon Roy.

Deron Williams will miss Friday's game against the Kings in order to attend a funeral in West Virginia.
Williams was in foul trouble Wednesday, but still finished with 24 points, five rebounds, seven assists, two 3-pointers and five turnovers in the win, but owners need to make other arrangements for Friday. Ronnie Price will likely start in his absence.
