The agent for Brandon Bass said Thursday that he would request a trade if Bass doesn't start to get playing time soon.
"Without question," said agent Tony Dutt, "if things keep going the way they are through the rest of the year, then I think the writing's on the wall." Bass is buried behind Rashard Lewis and Ryan Anderson on the depth chart, and a change of scenery is the only thing that could help him in fantasy leagues.

Matt Barnes started 14 straight games and has been playing well, but is still not a lock to start for the Magic the rest of the way.
"You never know about that," Van Gundy said of Barnes. "There's still a long way to go. You don't know what adjustments have to be made. I couldn't be happier the way he's playing. We have 11 weeks left and you never know how you'll end up." Barnes struggled on Friday, but had 13 points, six boards and two threes on Saturday. Barnes would likely be replaced by a true PF, like Brandon Bass, if a move was made, sliding Rashard Lewis over to SF.

Ryan Anderson scored 16 points in Saturday's easy win against the Hawks, making 5-of -10 FGs and 4-of-4 FTs in 22 minutes.
Orlando's backup big man hadn't played the past two games, but tonight it was Brandon Bass racking up the DNP-CD. Anderson has more fantasy upside, but this game isn't a fair indication of his role -- it was a blowout and Vince Carter wasn't available.

Magic forward Ryan Anderson picked up his second straight healthy DNP-CD on Friday.
Stan Van Gundy has been using Brandon Bass because of his defensive quickness, but conceded that "our offense is better" with Anderson. The two backup PFs will fight for scrap minutes as long as Rashard Lewis is healthy.

Magic GM Otis Smith says he doesn't plan to trade either of the team's backup centers, Marcin Gortat and Brandon Bass.
"It's the same as it was before. I'm happy with those guys," Smith said on Monday. Gortat in particular would likely have increased value on any other team than the Magic, but for now there's no reason to speculatively pick him up. In any case, neither player can be dealt until December 15th.

Brandon Bass had 17 points and three rebounds on 7-of-12 shooting Wednesday.
