James Singleton scored zero points in 29 minutes on Tuesday, but he did accumulate nine rebounds, four assists, one steal, three blocks and zero turnovers.
This line is reminiscent of Dominic McGuire last year -- active enough to contribute in most categories, but basically inept offensively. The Mavs rested every starter except Erick Dampier, so don't think too much about this line.

James Singleton shares that the off-season additions to the Dallas roster will likely reduce his minutes.
He had the ninth most minutes for the Mavs last year and had shown promise with the minutes given, but added depth and a crowded perimeter equals fantasy death to a player like Singleton.

James Singleton was re-signed by the Mavericks on Monday, taking the roster spot of Greg Buckner, who was released.
Dallas still has 16 guaranteed contracts on the books, so one more player will not be returning to Dallas this season. Singleton has some talent, but isn't likely to get many minutes for the Mavs.

James Singleton is expected to accept the Mavericks' qualifying offer on Monday or Tuesday.
Singleton averaged 5.1 points and 4.0 rebounds last season, while working his way back from knee surgery. He is very versatile at 6'8", is a reliable rebounder, and even flashed 3-point range last season. Unfortunately he won't have a big role while Dirk Nowitzki and Shawn Marion are both healthy.

The Dallas Mavericks have expressed their intent to retain James Singleton by issuing a contract.
Singleton would receive a league minimum offer for a fourth year player. If he accepts the offer he will return to his role as a reserve forward in the Mavericks rotation.

The Dallas Morning News reports that James Singleton is likely to return to the Mavericks next season, though so far "nothing is official."
Singleton would be a nice addition to the Mavs' bench, giving them a physical defender and rebounder behind forwards Dirk Nowitzki, Drew Gooden, and Tim Thomas. He has bulked up this summer but will probably be lucky to match last season's 14.3 minutes per game.
