An MRI on Rockets guard Kyle Lowry confirmed that he has a sprained left ankle -- he is expected to be reexamined in one week.
Initial estimates said he'd miss two weeks, but it sounds like he's officially 'out indefinitely'. Aaron Brooks will shoulder a heavy burden at PG in the meantime, with new callup Garrett Temple providing some support.

Houston guard Kyle Lowry's sprained ankle may need two weeks to completely heal.
Ouch. He obviously has a rather severe sprain, and it looks like Aaron Brooks will be asked to play big minutes for a while. On the plus side, Houston has just one game before the All-Star break, so Lowry's injury was (in a sense) well-timed.

Rockets guard Kyle Lowry sprained his ankle on Saturday and will not return. He is also expected to sit out Tuesday vs. the Heat.
We're surprised he's been ruled out of Tuesday's game so quickly, which could be due to the severity of the injury or nothing more than the proximity of the All-Star break (or maybe both). Theoretically this will move Will Conroy into a limited role as Houston's backup PG.

Kyle Lowry returned from his knee injury Friday night and had seven points and four assists in 18 minutes off the bench.
Lowry stepped right back in to his role behind Aaron Brooks, who had 18 points, eight rebounds and four assists tonight. Look for Lowry's minutes to gradually increase and when he gets hot he can put up some big lines. Deep leaguers should be watching this situation.

Kyle Lowry (knee) has been upgraded to questionable to play either Friday or Saturday after a successful practice Thursday afternoon.
"He ran pretty good," coach Rick Adelman said. "We don't want to push him. We want to make sure he is OK." He may very well go this weekend, but he's still a shaky play at best.

Kyle Lowry (knee) participated in on-court practice and could potentially return to the Rockets lineup before the All-Star break.
Lowry could return as early as Friday to face his former team, the Grizzlies, but he doesn't want to rush things. Lowry has borderline value in deep leagues but it may be best to take a wait and see approach when he makes his return.
