Oleksiy Pecherov had eight points and four rebounds off the Wolves bench on Saturday.
Since erupting for 24 points and eight rebounds last week, Pecherov has averaged 3.4 points per game. Coach Kurt Rambis said he needs to improve his rebounding, defense, execution, and hustle -- pretty much everything but his jumpshot.

Wolves rookie Wayne Ellington made his first NBA start on Monday, finishing with just seven points, one assist and three turnovers in 17 minutes.
Coach Kurt Rambis was hoping to inject some speed into the lineup (against the Warriors) by replacing Oleksiy Pecherov, but the move didn't exactly pay off. Ellington still hasn't scored double-digit points in a game this season.

Oleksiy Pecherov played just 13 minutes on Sunday, scoring only four points to go with two rebounds and one assist.
Pecherov raised some eyebrows with a 24-point, eight-rebound night on Wednesday, but has since followed it up with a total of six points and 11 rebounds in his last two games. In his defense, tonight was a blowout and perhaps coach Kurt Rambis wanted to see others play.

Oleksiy Pecherov backed up his 24-point, eight-rebound night with just two points and nine rebounds on Friday.
He hit just 1-of-6 field goals but did block two shots. As long as he's starting he's going to have some nice lines, but they will likely be sandwiched between duds like this one.

Timberwolves forward Oleksiy Pecherov scored a career-high 24 points against the Celtics on Wednesday, making 9-of-14 FGs and 5-of-5 FTs, with eight rebounds and one steal.
Pecherov made the most of his 34 minutes of action, but whether he can repeat this performance remains to be seen. We'd be much more inclined to recommend him if Kevin Love (hand) wasn't slated to return in a few weeks.

The Timberwolves have extended the contracts of Kevin Love and Corey Brewer through the 2010-11 season. They did not pick up the option on Oleksiy Pecherov.
Love is out for a few more weeks with a broken hand, but Brewer is playing well and Pecherov started for the Wolves on Saturday.
