Aaron Afflalo's ankle injury seems serious and he could miss Tuesday's game vs. the Mavericks.
We're assuming he suffered a bad sprain, but no details have surfaced yet. He was a borderline option with Carmelo Anthony out, and should be avoided now that he has his own injury issues.

Arron Afflalo suffered an ankle injury on Saturday night.
That might help explain his 1-of-9 shooting performance, but the injury isn't thought to be serious.

Nuggets SG Aaron Afflalo was awful in Saturday's loss, scoring just three points on 1-of-9 shooting.
Afflalo added two rebounds and a block, but we were hoping for much more in the absence of both Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups. When you gamble on borderline fantasy players, lines like this are something you occasionally must live with.

Coach George Karl was confident that Carmelo Anthony (sprained ankle) will be able to play against the Suns on Wednesday.
We've been down this road before, so check back on Wednesday to be certain. Melo has missed five games even though the Nuggets have repeatedly said that he could play if it was a playoff situation. "I don't know if he can play 35-40 minutes. We'll have to evaluate that as the game goes on," Karl said.

Carmelo Anthony (sprained ankle) is considered doubtful for Friday's game against the Thunder.
We're not aware of a setback here and we suspect the Nuggets are just playing it safe. "I'm not saying he probably won't try, but after the shootaround today I'd say he's 60-40 not going (to play)," Karl said about Friday's game. Karl had previously said that his franchise player could have played Wednesday if it was a playoff game. Joey Graham will start, but Arron Afflalo stands to benefit most.

Arron Afflalo missed all seven of his field-goal attempts on his way to two points, six rebounds, no blocks and no steals Wednesday.
Yikes. It's pretty surprising that Afflalo was this bad even with Carmelo Anthony (ankle) out. With Melo poised to return shortly, Afflalo will go back to borderline fantasy value. Afflalo was coming off a huge game when he had 24 points and six 3-pointers on Monday.
