Chase Budinger | Guard/Forward

TEAM: Houston Rockets
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6'7' / 218
DOB: 5/22/1988
AGE:21
 Carl Landry-F/C- RocketsFeb. 9 - 11:28 pm et
Carl Landry made his first start of the season for the short-handed Rockets on Tuesday, playing small forward while Shane Battier moved to SG. He had 11 points, six rebounds and three turnovers in 26 minutes.
The move didn't pan out too well and Landry was back on the bench to start the second half, replaced by SG Chase Budinger. Don't think too much of this temporary shuffle -- his role is well-defined and we don't expect it to change.

 Chase Budinger-G/F - Rockets Feb. 9 - 11:27 pm et

Rockets swingman Chase Budinger had 10 points and 12 rebounds on Tuesday -- he started the second half and wound up playing a team-high 36 minutes.
Budinger got extra run with both Kyle Lowry (ankle) and Trevor Ariza (hip) sidelined. Ariza isn't likely to remain out after the All-Star break, at which point Budinger should revert to being an adequate role player.
 Trevor Ariza-F - Rockets Feb. 9 - 2:28 am et

Rockets swingman Trevor Ariza (hip pointer) will not play in Tuesday's game against the Heat.
Chase Budinger is expected to start at SG with both Ariza and Kyle Lowry (ankle) sidelined, with guys like Jermaine Taylor and Garrett Temple providing bench support. The good news for Houston is they'll get a few days to rest injured players over the break -- they have zero players in the All-Star game.

 Shane Battier-G/F - Rockets Jan. 22 - 3:40 am et

Coach Rick Adelman said Thursday that he might bring Shane Battier off the bench in Friday's game to match him up with the Spurs' sixth-man Manu Ginobili.
He added that Kyle Lowry or Chase Budinger could start in his place, but we don't think this will change the minute distribution too much, if at all. And if it does, there's a good chance it won't continue into the next game, since Adelman clearly sees the move as being specifically for the Spurs.

 Chase Budinger-G/F - Rockets Jan. 16 - 2:46 am et

Chase Budinger hit 6-of-9 shots and three 3-pointers for 17 points on Friday.
He's a player to keep an eye on, as he could emerge in the second half of the season.
 Chase Budinger-G/F - Rockets Jan. 6 - 1:37 am et

Chase Budinger (ankle) returned to action on Tuesday, scoring two points in nine minutes off the bench.
Budinger's three-point range makes him intriguing, but he's not a viable fantasy option in average leagues.
