O.J. Mayo hit just 4-of-12 shots for eight points, seven rebounds and four assists in Saturday's loss to the Clippers.
Mayo may have been trying too hard against Eric Gordon, with whom he has battled with on the court since childhood. Gordon won the matchup tonight, but with the news that Allen Iverson has left the Grizzlies, it's all-systems-go on Mayo the rest of the way.

O.J. Mayo played 35 minutes, but hit just 4-of-13 shots and zero 3-pointers on his way to 14 points, three boards, two assists, two steals and a block in a loss to the Warriors.
Allen Iverson played 27 minutes and scored 18 points, and his arrival will probably cut into the production of Mayo and Mike Conley. However, Mayo still seems like a very safe fantasy play for now, despite the off night.

Allen Iverson made his long-awaited Grizzlies debut on Monday, finishing with 11 points, one assist and two turnovers in 18 minutes. After the game, he complained about coming off the bench.
That really didn't take long, did it? Iverson moved with his usual quickness, and he finished 5-of-9 from the field with one 3-pointer. It's safe to say his impact on the Grizzlies' fantasy fortunes tonight was minimal -- O.J. Mayo scored 22 points on 9-of-20 shooting, and Mike Conley had 13 points and six assists in 36 minutes. The problem is that A.I. won't play 18 minutes off the bench for very long.

Rudy Gay and O.J. Mayo got into a shouting match during Sunday's loss to the Nuggets -- Gay took exception to a comment Mayo made about the team not getting back on defense.
The two players had to be physically restrained, though both downplayed the incident after the game. In fairness, Mayo probably had a valid point about the defensive lapses -- the Nuggets won the game by scoring 133 points.

O.J. Mayo scored a career-high 40 points in the Grizzlies' 133-123 loss to the Nuggets on Sunday, and also added five rebounds, four assists, and one steal.
The good news for Mayo's owners is that they have a legitimate superstar in the making, with the bad news being that Allen Iverson arrives on the job Monday. Shots are going to become real hard to come by, real soon.

O.J. Mayo has been struggling through a sprained ankle, but is getting close to full strength.
He's shooting only 31 percent from the field thus far, and while getting healthy should help his shot, the return of Allen Iverson on Monday could limit his touches.
