Sources have indicated the Timberwolves will trade backup PG Ramon Sessions this summer, provided they can reach an agreement with draft pick Ricky Rubio.
The Wolves are currently rolling with the tandem of Sessions and starter Jonny Flynn, and it doesn't sound like that will change before this season's Feb. 18 trade deadline.

Wolves rookie Jonny Flynn is disappointed that Ricky Rubio won't play in the NBA this season.
"He can make me so much better," said Flynn. It's nice to see him reaching out to a fellow teammate/rookie/PG, but Ramon Sessions should be a more than adequate replacement.

With Ramon Sessions off the market, Knicks president Donnie Walsh intends to re-open discussions about acquiring Ricky Rubio.
Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated recently Tweeted that Sessions' signing with Minnesota "pretty much ensures that Rubio will be dealt before 2011." Yes, the 24/7 Rubio news cycle rolls on.

Due to the current structuring of rookie contracts it may not make financial sense for Ricky Rubio to migrate to the NBA until 2012.
This hard reality makes for another headache for a Minnesota franchise hoping to see fruition of their draft pick investment.

Despite rumors that the Timberwolves were close to sending Ricky Rubio to the Knicks in a sign-and-trade for David Lee, the Knicks say they have no interest in Rubio.
While the Wolves hold Rubio's rights while he spends the next couple seasons in Spain, don't be surprised if he is traded over the next 12 months. And despite what the Knicks say, Rubio is a good fit with New York, and might be playing in the NBA today if he would have been drafted by Donnie Walsh instead of David Kahn.

Ricky Rubio said Tuesday that moving to the NBA was too risky and that moving to Minnesota would have complicated his life.
You also have to wonder if the Wolves' lowly reputation and Minneapolis climate came into play in his decision making, but either way, Rubio is not scheduled to play in the NBA until 2011 at the earliest. Two seasons is a long time to wait, even in keeper leagues.
