Kobe Bryant hit 17-of-29 shots and a 3-pointer for 40 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals in Tuesday's win over the Pistons.
This was Kobe's 100th 40-point game, putting him behind Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan on the all-time list. He has a groin injury, but you couldn't tell watching him tonight.

Kobe Bryant looked good in Monday's practice despite dealing with a groin injury that slowed him in Sunday's game.
He should be good to go for Tuesday night's game, so go ahead and keep him in your lineup.

Kobe Bryant struggled through a groin injury on Sunday, hitting just 5-of-20 shots on his way to 18 points, one rebound, three assists, and three steals.
He apparently injured his groin a week ago, and aggravated it during the first quarter tonight. "Treat it, work through it," Bryant said late Sunday night in regards to how he plans to handle it, adding "I’ll be all right." With the Lakers dropping two in a row, we doubt he'll miss any time.

Kobe Bryant scored all 19 of his points before halftime on Friday, finishing 7-of-17 from the field, but refused to blame the Lakers' loss to Denver on fatigue.
"We’re a great back-to-back team and a great road team," said Kobe. "They just beat us." The Lakers scored just 23 points in the second half (eight in the third quarter), setting a new franchise-low.

The Lakers have offered Kobe Bryant a maximum extension, worth about $90 million over three years, but so far he hasn't taken the bait.
Kobe is under contract through July 2011 so the need to extend his deal isn't pressing -- he might be hoping for more favorable terms when the collective bargaining agreement is re-negotiated. "I'm not going to talk about it," he said. "I'm not going to let it be a distraction. I'm going to keep my business behind closed doors."
