Lakers coach Phil Jackson hopes to limit veteran PG Derek Fisher to under 25 minutes per game, in an effort to keep him fresh for playoffs.
Fisher has averaged over 32 minutes so far this season, which means Jordan Farmar and Shannon Brown could get some extra burn in the near future -- just not enough to significantly improve their fantasy stock.

Derek Fisher had 11 points and seven assists in Friday's win over Memphis.
He had zero points, zero assists and zero rebounds in his previous game, but was much better tonight. That still doesn't mean he's worth using as a fantasy point guard at this point.

Derek Fisher played 34 minutes but missed all five of his shots to finish without a point, rebound or assist in Wednesday's overtime win.
He did have two steals, but there's no reason to own Fisher in almost any league. And how he didn't stumble blindly into a rebound or assist is beyond us.

Derek Fisher is averaging 31 minutes through the first three games of the season, but he's shooting just 29% from the field, including 18% from downtown.
The O.C. Register notes that Shannon Brown has scored as many points as Fisher (16) in 1/3 as many minutes, warning that Fisher "needs step it up soon or risk becoming a member of the Bench Mob."

Phil Jackson is considering situations where he could play Kobe Bryant, Ron Artest, Lamar Odom, Pau Gasol, and Andrew Bynum at the same time.
That is a devastatingly talented (and huge) lineup, and even without a true PG they have plenty of offensive firepower and playmaking ability. Bad news for Derek Fisher, and possibly the NBA's other 29 teams.

The NBA players union voiced their displeasure at the state of the referee lockout.
"Players throughout the league are concerned that the use of replacement referees could compromise the integrity of our games," said player union president, Derek Fisher. Players and owners alike are hoping to avoid the same struggles the league faced in 1995 when a similar contract dispute resulted in inadequate replacement refs.
