Dirk Nowitzki played through a thumb injury on Friday, but came off the bench after being late to shootaround earlier in the day.
He finished with 21 points and eight boards on 6-of-15 shooting, and still got 37 minutes despite coming off the bench for the first time since 1999. His thumb is not fully healthy, but expect him to play through it.

Josh Howard started over Dirk Nowitzki, who came off the bench after arriving late to Friday's shootaround.
Howard had 11 points and six rebounds on 4-of-11 shooting, and while he's probably worth owning, he's not a guy who should be in many fantasy lineups right now.

Dirk Nowitzki was late to Friday's shootaround and will therefore not start Friday's game against the T-Wolves.
Luckily this has nothing to do with his thumb, although Josh Howard will start in his place.

Dirk Nowitzki practiced Thursday despite a right thumb sprain that he aggravated in Wednesday's game, and said he wouldn't miss any game time because of it.
That's great news for owners, who should have him in their lineups for Friday's game against the Wolves. As for the thumb itself, it's worth watching to see if it impacts him, but it's not something we would worry about going forward.

Dirk Nowitzki got hot late, despite a right thumb injury, and scored 20 points to help the Mavericks beat the Warriors on Wednesday.
Dirk scored nine of his points in the fourth quarter and finished with seven rebounds on 7-of-11 shooting. The thumb injury, which appeared to be a 'jam,' was heavily taped in the fourth quarter, but he should be able to play through it. Watch for more news, but plan on keeping him active.

Dirk Nowitzki returned to Wednesday's game after leaving with a right thumb injury.
He has the thumb heavily taped and the fact that it is his shooting hand is a concern. However, Dirk's as tough as they come and the injury probably isn't much to worry about as long as it doesn't get hit again tonight.
