Andrew Bynum (strained elbow) practiced fully on Tuesday, and said he would play in Thursday's game against the Suns. Pau Gasol (hamstring) did not practice and is unlikely to play Thursday.
Bynum has missed two games because of the elbow, but he now appears healthy and ready to go. Bynum will replace D.J. Mbenga in the starting lineup; look for Lamar Odom's minutes to be limited somewhat by Bynum's return.

Lakers backup center D.J. Mbenga is dealing with a lingering abdominal injury and tendinitis in his knees.
Mbenga posted his first career double-double on Sunday, but it happened in the absence of Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol. There shouldn't even be an Mbenga bandwagon to jump on.

D.J. Mbenga got the start again for injured Andrew Bynum (elbow) on Sunday, and tied a career-high with 10 points to go with 12 rebounds, zero assists, one steal, and four blocks.
In just his fourth career start for the Lakers he's showing that he can be a serviceable source of rebounds and blocks as an injury replacement in deeper leagues. Just don't get carried away with Mbenga-fever.

D.J. Mbenga made the most of a rare start on Friday, finishing with five points, 13 rebounds and four blocks in a win over the Grizzlies.
He started in place of Andrew Bynum, who is day-to-day with an elbow injury, but will only hold fantasy value if Bynum and Pau Gasol (hamstring) remain out.

Mbenga will give you blocks, but that's about it. Don't play him unless you're desperate.

The Los Angeles Times is reporting on its Lakers Blog that Andrew Bynum (elbow) is going to miss Friday's game against the Grizzlies, as expected.
Expect Lamar Odom to have a big night as the Lakers' main frontcourt option. D.J. Mbenga should get the start in Bynum's place, and could be worth a look if you're real desperate.
