Swift, the second overall pick in 2000, was bothered by a strained hamstring all preseason. He could still latch on with another team.

Rodney Carney (strained hamstring) and Stromile Swift (hamstring) both stayed in Philadelphia as the 76ers traveled to Ontario for their preseason opener.
Swift may not even make the regular season roster, and Carney isn't going to see much playing time while Andre Iguodala is healthy. Hopefully we'll see them in action before the preseason concludes.

The Sixers signed power forward Rashad Jones-Jennings to a non-guaranteed contract on Wednesday.
He led the nation in rebounding at Arkansas-Little Rock in 2007 and played in Germany last year. He'll have an outside shot at making the team's final roster, but could have a better chance than Stromile Swift, who is already out with an injury.

Free agent Stromile Swift, who is trying to make the Sixers, strained his left hamstring early in Tuesday's practice and sat out the rest of the day.
Swift will also sit out today's session and is probably a long shot to make the team. But the good news is that fantasy owners will no longer be taunted by the sick athleticism and shot-blocking potential of the perennial bust.

Jazz free agent center Jarron Collins will work out for the Cavaliers and Trail Blazers this week, but hasn't ruled out a return to Utah, either.
The Blazers are also said to be looking at big men Juwan Howard and Stromile Swift. Collins has played in Utah for eight seasons, but has averaged just four points and three rebounds.

The Blazers, in the market for a backup power forward, will audition veteran free agents Juwan Howard and Stromile Swift.
Blazers GM Kevin Pritchard expects the team to sign one or two more players (in addition to rookie Jeff Pendergraph) before training camp begins on September 28th. Other players will be invited to work out, including Zendon Hamilton, but Swift and Howard have the most realistic chance of being signed.
