Bobcats coach Larry Brown denied that he is already planning to defect to the 76ers after this season.
Brown called the story "old news" before adding, "I'm not coaching anywhere else. I love [team owner] Michael Jordan." He couldn't admit being interested even if it were true, of course, and the Sixers can't even talk to him without it being tampering. Brown's family lives in suburban Philly and we haven't heard the last of this story.

Bobcats owner Michael Jordan has granted coach Larry Brown permission to look for another job when the season is over.
This is what Brown does. He gets a team back to respectability and then jets for another rebuilding project. This time, he's being linked to the Sixers and Clippers. He is rumored to want complete control over basketball operations, something he could have in Philly with Eddie Jordan done and GM Ed Stefanski teetering. Brown's family lives in the Philadelphia area.

With the NBA's Board of Governors having approved Michael Jordan's bid to buy the Bobcats on Wednesday, Jordan is the first ex-player to become a majority NBA owner, according to the Associated Press.
Taking over the Bobcats comes with no small amount of risk for Jordan, who will reportedly assume approximately $150 million in debt as he attempts to resuscitate a franchise that is on course to lose close to $30 million this season.

The NBA has signed off on Michael Jordan's bid to buy the Bobcats.
Commissioner David Stern expects the NBA's board of governors to approve the sale by the end of next week. Jordan will become the first ex-player to own a team by putting up $275 million in cash for a team that has annually lost money. Jordan's first goal should be retaining coach Larry Brown, who already has been linked to the Sixers and Clippers.

NBA commissioner David Stern expects Michael Jordan to be approved as majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats by the end of next month.
Stern expects an "expedited approval process" for Jordan, whose ownership of the Bobcats he endorsed in his 'State of the NBA' talk. His presence in Charlotte is good for the league, and it virtually ensures that coach Larry Brown will return next season.

Michael Jordan has purchased controlling interest of the Charlotte Bobcats.
Jordan was already in charge of the teams' basketball operations, and coach Larry Brown essentially said he would only return next season if MJ was still in the organization. Now that MJ owns the organization, logic dictates that Brown will stick around. For now, the revamped Bobcats sit 1/2 game behind Miami for the Eastern Conference's eighth seed.
