Coach Vinny Del Negro said that recently acquired Devin Brown is unlikely to play against his old Hornets teammates Friday night.
Del Negro said he wouldn't hesitate to use him if it was an emergency, and in any event fantasy owners shouldn't be affected by this news. Without a trade or injury to Kirk Hinrich or John Salmons, Brown is unlikely to have value in Chicago.

 Devin Brown-G/F - Bulls Jan. 26 - 2:24 am et

Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro wants to see recently acquired guard Devin Brown in practice before he decides how to use him.
''All I've seen is obviously playing against him and on film, so we'll see how it works out,'' said Del Negro. Brown will meet the team in Oklahoma City in anticipation of Wednesday's game, and fantasy owners shouldn't bother adding him until we see his role.

The Hornets have reportedly agreed to trade guard Devin Brown to the Bulls for center Aaron Gray.
The Hornets needed a big man and had too many guards, so the move makes sense. It would appear that Marcus Thornton should slide into the starting shooting guard spot in New Orleans, which means he should probably be owned in most leagues.

Devin Brown followed up Friday's zero-point performance with just three points in 19 minutes during Saturday's win against Indiana.
While Brown struggled, backup Marcus Thornton (13 points, five rebounds in 22 minutes) had another nice game, spearheading a solid effort from the bench. For now, at least, it looks like theyll continue to split minutes.
 Marcus Thornton-G - Hornets Jan. 16 - 12:41 am et

Marcus Thornton played 30 minutes off the bench to finish with 13 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in Friday's loss.
Starter Devin Brown has really cooled off, failing to score in this one, and it's possible that Thornton could take his place in the starting five at some point. Keep an eye on him.
 Devin Brown-G/F - Bulls Jan. 12 - 2:12 pm et

Devin Brown is shooting 41.0 percent from 3-point range this season, well above his 34.5 percent career mark.
Brown shot an anemic 28.9 percent from the land of trey last season, so we have to take his current numbers with a grain of salt. If he can't sustain this 3-point shooting pace, he'll be useless in the vast majority of leagues.
