Shawn Marion (ankle) said he will not play Friday against the Kings, but should be back for Tuesday's game against the Warriors.
"It's feeling better," Marion said Friday. "Just a couple more days and I should be good." Look for Quinton Ross to start again in his place.

Mavericks rookie Roddy Beaubois started at SG on Friday, in place of injured Josh Howard (ankle). He attempted six of the team's first 10 shots, but finished with just nine points on 3-of-7 shooting.
There is no timetable for Howard's return, but Beaubois played just 15 minutes and will likely be kept on a very short leash -- especially with capable players like Jason Terry, Quinton Ross, and J.J. Barea coming off the bench.

Quinton Ross returned from a back injury on Saturday and scored six points in 10 minutes off the bench.
He has no value now that the Mavs are nearly back at full strength (thanks to the return of Josh Howard).

Quinton Ross, who missed Wednesday's game with a sore back, is expected to play on Saturday.
He had been in the starting lineup, but should be headed back to a reserve role now that Josh Howard is set to return from injury.

Jason Terry hit 12-of-18 shots and four 3-pointers on his way to a season-high 35 points and three assists in Wednesday's loss to the Hornets.
Terry was averaging just 13.5 points coming in, so he was due for a breakout game. He may have been helped by the fact that Quinton Ross was out with an injury, but Ross hopes to be back on Saturday.

Rodrigue Beaubois started in place of injured Quinton Ross on Wednesday and scored the Mavericks first nine points.
He was 4-of-6 with a 3-pointer, but didn't score again after the scoring the first nine for the Mavs. He should have no fantasy value unless he somehow becomes a permanent starter. And that is not likely to happen.
