Shonn Greene had just seven carries for 26 yards in Week 10.
Thomas Jones had 21 carries and got the ball on the goal line in the fourth quarter, executing from a yard out. Greene should only be considered Jones' "handcuff" in fantasy leagues until the rookie earns a larger workload. Greene is a terrific talent, but may still be in coach Rex Ryan's semi-doghouse after losing a Week 8 fumble that Jason Taylor returned for a TD.

Shonn Greene was held to 18 yards on eight carries against the Dolphins in Week 8.
Greene was rotating early with Thomas Jones, but his second-quarter fumble was returned for a touchdown by Jason Taylor in a tight game. Though he appeared to spend the rest of the afternoon in the doghouse, the rookie should continue to see 8-12 touches on a weekly basis.

Jets coach Rex Ryan said rookie Shonn Greene will probably pick up most of Leon Washington's carries.
Washington is out for the season with a broken leg. Although Greene won't play on third-downs, he will split the early-down carries with Thomas Jones. Greene is a strong runner that is well worth an add in all leagues. He shredded the Raiders on Sunday for 144 yards on 19 carries.

Danny Woodhead will see increased reps on third downs with Leon Washington done for the season.
Shonn Greene isn't a good enough receiver to fill the role. A training camp darling, Woodhead won't have any fantasy value. Expect Thomas Jones to get the biggest bump in passing-down snaps and receptions. The Jets couldn't find a way to involve three backs before, so it's hard to imagine them doing so now.

Rookie Shonn Greene exploded for 144 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries in the Jets' 38-0 stomping of the Raiders in Week 7.
We'd say this won't happen again because it resulted from Leon Washington's leg injury, but Washington appears to be seriously hurt and may not play for a long while. Greene, a third-round pick out of Iowa, displayed excellent burst and power. He lowered his shoulder to deliver blows and picked up first downs at will. Greene will deservedly be a hot fantasy pickup this week.

Jets coach Rex Ryan said Monday that Shonn Greene's ankle "will be fine."
Greene tweaked the ankle while getting the first carries of his career in Week 4. He'll be ready to swoop in if Thomas Jones continues to struggle. Jones is averaging 2.9 yards per carry over his last three games.
