Panthers coach John Fox said it is a "possibility" that Julius Peppers (hand) will be able to play on more running downs this week.
With Charles Johnson (pectoral) doubtful, the Panthers need as much as Peppers can give them. However, Peppers' inability to line up with his broken right hand in the dirt prevents him from playing his usual LE position in Carolina's first- and second-down defense. He will be available to play RE in passing situations, but the Panthers would have to get really creative (3-4 looks?) to keep Peppers on the field on early downs. Bench him in IDP leagues.
